A little about me!

My inspiration probably comes from my dad who loved to paint himself. He would give art classes in our house and though I wasn’t allowed in as a child, I would always peep through the key hole! My dad was also a keen fisherman. I have such great memories of us out on the lake at night completely absorbed by the sounds and colour, the light and shade on the lake, as day drew into night.

I have always remained quite close to the water. Swimming in the sea, walking along the beach even kayaking down the river, all throughout the year. The peace and tranquillity there is second to none. Our landscape truly speaks for itself and I find myself in a rush to paint, to retain the images and beauty I’ve seen.

The attraction of watercolours is drawn from their magical qualities. There’s always something new and its very rewarding when things work out. I admire other artists too and try and learn from them as they constantly inspire me to get painting or sketching. Getting the time is now becoming vital to me, or else I feel dissatisfied! With 8 children, all grown up now, maybe this is the time to paint and study, a lifetime dream .
